During bad economic times the compensation plan is the most important. The plan must have quick start recruiting bonus with no required signups before you recieve it . Sponsor 1 recieve a check. If the majority of new associates don't recieve a check in the first 30-60 days they will quit making duplication , product and company pointless .

I think that possibly the most immportant factor could be the support, and training that the company provide, so selecting from your list, I guess the company platform should be at the top.
Why ? Because most of the new people to this industry do not know what they are getting into, the plans and potential income are what attract them, but how do they get a downline afterwards ? Without good support and training they just wont get any body to sign up below them, and that doesnt give them any income, so they will probably leave the program, complaining of being scammed, or some such other remark.
I also feel that the system has to be quite easy to duplicate, again going back to the training aspect, but of course the compensation plan does have a great attarction on first inspection.
As to the Product, well quite often with some plans, I wonder what is the product ?, does one actually exist ? Or does it matter one way or another?, whether there was one at all. Sometimes the Product is all hype, and the real product is the compensation plan, nothing else matters, as long as you get the sign ups...
I am sure that there are many others with a completely different outlook on this type of business, but from what I see, that appears to be what its about, Sorry to those that love this business, and make a good living by it...

My priority list for choosing a networking company/MLM is as follows:
My perception of the person who wants to sponsor me
The quality of the up-line and their mentoring capabilities
Training and resources available
Compensation Plan
Product
Note: Network marketing is about people and you cannot duplicate a system without formulating relationships based on mutual respect and mentor knowledge. You may be able to recruit people in your down line, but without paying attention to this you might not keep them. Most people need a lot of help and are not self motivated. They are in the business or are interested in the business for the same reasons you are so you need to be credible.

Compensation Plan (Money Machine)
After years in this industry, I noticed that what most of you said are true.
Personally, I also find that the "money machine" is very important factor
that keep the people from continuing the business. When you earn your
money you can basically purchase all the best products in the world for
you and your family.
System
Of coz the duplication SYSTEM (Save Your Self Tine Effort Money) must
be easy to follow as what Jill Mitchell mentioned. We cannot duplicate
leaders like us but we will be able to duplicate the system.
Products
To me products is not a products, it is only a "Tool". You can basically
sell anything, even a stone through networking. As long as you show them
the whole business concept how it works to change their lifestyle.
There are only two kinds of products to share, tangible and intangible. I
would prefer intangible products due to the product delivery. If you can
introduce a product that can be delivered to your prospect within seconds
than you can make money even faster.
Company
It is only a platform. Those who works for others is using their company as
their platform but those platform takes them too long to achieve their dreams.
As long as the company is genuine in their business, it is worthwhile building
your network there
Conclusion;
Everything is about the education system. If a person wants to be successful
in the networking industry, he/she must go through the education system,
otherwise his/her success will take a longer time.

You must have a great product or products that is a given. But without a strong company base, good management and solid financial's. You are heading for trouble, even the best product ever created needs an even better company behind it. Many MLM companies fail because of poor leadership and lack of cash-flow. The comp-plan and duplication is secondary. My questions is how do you market your company "old school, 3 ft rule stuff or new school web 2.0 and the internet.

All of those are great answers in my opinion though i would like to say to me that the company is the most important because without a good platform to rely on none of the above would be possible then of coarse an awesome compensation plan the more money you make the more you can help others in need which is very important. also with a good company with good leaders come good duplication the easier you make it the better. now in saying that i would like to add i still love to have good products like i said before the easier you make it the better.

i feel bad to say that most of the systems promoted here are scam, and has nothing to do with network marketing, i'll not mention any of them, because i can't count them any more. however i noticed few are good.
to know what is the right company, we should know how to evaluate.
